If your Mom has worked and is over 65, she will qualify for Medicare.
More info can be found on http://www.medicare.gov

She will receive benefits from Social Security if she has worked and is over 62.
More info can be found on http://www.ssa.gov

Generally speaking, to qualify for Medicaid, her monthly income can’t be more than $2,000 or $3,000. Her assets (not including a home, personal belongings, a car and a few other things, can’t be worth more than $2,000 to $15,000 depending on the state.

Many low income elderly people qualify for Supplement Security Income (SSI).
This is a Federal Income Supplement program which helps low-income elderly people. More info can be found on http://www.ssa.gov

She might also qualify for Food Stamps: http://www.fns.usda.gov/snap
