My mother-in-law is losing her sight and hearing, but is very active. Any ideas to keep her busy?

Walking around, especially parks and with close friends or family members is stimulating. Even a trip to the grocery store will lift your mother-in-law’s spirits. Swimming in a lap lane will be beneficial, if it is possible your mother-in-law does not have to share the lane. If your mother-in-law has not completely lost her hearing, try dancing–no matter if it is swing, ballroom, country, cha-cha, western! Not only does that activity burn body fat, it benefits the heart and muscle tone, increases balance and coordination, and is a great way to socialize. Dancing fosters a sense of belonging.
