Hello, my elder brother is 56 years old and we recently went to the dentist for a routine checkup and a teeth cleaning. He said that my brother has a growth on the left ventral part of his tongue. Is this a symptom of oral cancer? He was a smoker for about 16 years and I am scared! The fact which makes us more scared is that our dad passed away due to his esophageal cancer. I am going to consult our ENT in the next week. Does anyone have any insight on this? Can you please share your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

My grandmother was also having a bulge in tongue. she went through certain tests and found it to be malignant. Now she has to go through low dose rate radiation or surgery so that it does harm much of her body.
Please give your blessings to her.
Thank you.
